No matter HOW tired you are, it is IMPERATIVE that you put the lid onto the percolating coffee pot before you attempt to brew coffee. Otherwise you just have a big mess and no coffee.

I can throw one in from my husband. Remember to put the carafe in its proper place BEFORE the coffee starts brewing. Mopping up coffee is not a favorite thing of mine to do so early in the morning.

Teehee! Nope, nuh uh, never done that before...
It's also imperative to put the coffee pot back onto the coffee maker to keep the stream of coffee from pouring onto the counter and floor. Just sayin'...lol!
Ha. I don't drink coffee, so I haven't experienced that, but I have had the top to my blender come off while making a smoothie. Fun times!
