The Big Easy

You know what I was wondering? You know that statement, "It'll get easier." Otherwise known as, "It gets easier."

Well, what about the statement, "It's going to get harder before it gets easier."

How do those two statements mesh? I mean...does it get harder or easier? And if it gets harder before it gets easier, then when it gets easier isn't it really just getting back to the way it was before it got harder? So then it's easier than it was when it was harder but not easier than it was originally. Right?

I guess things never get any easier, do they?

It's like the saying "it's the darkest before the dawn". The way light travels, it sounds like the darkest before dawn is pretty quick. So by the time you get to the hardest part of a situation, it's over and easy is going on. Or not.

This thought is too deep for my sleep deprived, pregnant, Monday morning brain. It does get easier, sometimes.

Actually, what "they" really mean is that the things that are hard now get easier, but the easy things now, or the things you never even thought about, get hard later. So, it's always hard, it's just different stuff.

The good news is that something is always easy too.

It never gets easier... it just becomes a different sort of difficulty!

"It" gets easier...but then you get a new "It".

Personally, I don't things actually get much easier as we simply become acclimated to the way things are.

So I am confused. Is it going to get easier or just stay hard or maybe it will get harder before it gets even harder and then the easy come.
I have no idea.

You have such a great way to say what I am feeling... when will the "hard" end!!!???

It doesn't get easier, you adjust. Then when you are nice and comfortable with the new normal, it gets even worse.

My pastor was talking about this very thing yesterday.

Yeah, it's always hard. Just a whole lot of hard on all different levels.

Holy cows...I need grace.

I'm ready for it to start getting easier-things have been tough enough around here. :)
