Subbing

Hey - what do you think I could use as a substitute for soy sauce in recipes? Don't say Bragg's Aminos because that's soy based, too. I checked. Ha! The lady at the whole food place said to try fish sauce with a bit of sesame oil tempered in. Blech. No way no how can I do that. I tried. Icky poo poo. So...help a girl out...

What can I use in place of soy sauce, in recipes that call for soy sauce??

Lol. I have no suggestions. My google didn't break down either, I just didn't check it.

I like that phrase, "Did your google break down??" I'm gonna use that. And for things like, when my daughter forgets something. Or my someone does something dumb. It'll be funny, you watch.....

I have no idea...but I needed to come say Hi. :)

I'm not all sacred & profane this week, and was behind on a few billion other posts too. I did catch up and read them all. But, for now, I'm just saying "Hey" and "how are you?" :)

I was going to suggest the same thing as Funky Kim. That recipe looks delish! I don't have to sub soy, but I might try that just to taste it! GL! Substitutions can be so annoying!

Worcestershire sauce?

I'm with CC & Double T.

Worcestershire sauce. Different kind of tang, but in the right family, taste wise I think.

Man, what did we DO before Google?? Wow! --And, I am THRILLED to know that Bragg's is soy based. I have a friend who is so smug about her non-soy diet, because, yk, soy is EVIL!

Oops, sorry, guess I should do that on the profane post. :)

I'm with CC too. Or just add a bunch of salt, because, let's face it, that is what soy sauce is loaded with.... =)
