Girls Night Out!

As part of the celebration Holly and I cooked up..

I went out with my good friend Robin on Friday night. We left our collective 7 kids (1 of mine was at a sleepover) with our 2 husbands (2 pizzas, 2 Two Liters of soda and a family order of breadsticks) at Robin's house and headed for greener pastures! (Click to embiggen)

We both obviously decided the occasion was worth dressing up for! This is one of the new shirts I snagged for myself on Friday - it WASN'T a $10 Tee from Old Navy, for once!!

(Psst - Heidi - I'm wearing my Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer!!)

We headed into town for dinner. Alone. With no kids. Robin and I have known each other since right after we both got married when our husbands worked at the same place. This will be our 13th year of friendship! Where did we go? Well, I can tell you that there were No Value meals. No ordering by number (I'll have a number 4, no mayo please.) Nah, we headed to:

I had steak, Robin had penne pasta.

Margaritas were on special.

*gulp gulp gulp* Ahhh! Had mine on the rocks!!

Robin stuck with water. She drove.

Dinner was fantastic! Lots of uninterrupted conversation and laughter. After dinner we went and did what all moms want to do...

...sans kids.

After convincing one woman that we were a lesbian couple out on a date, we headed back to Robin's place. *wink wink nudge nudge* HA!

Our husbands were ever so anxiously awaiting our arrival, I assure you.

We hung out over there until after midnight and then headed home.

It was a fantastic evening. Good friends, good food, good shopping, good fun. It was a good way to celebrate the ened of a GRUELING February and a good-bye to pneumonia, Croup, bronchiolitis, upper respiratory infections, RSV and colds.

And hello to the stomach flu when we picked Sienna up at 4 am from her friends house.

Oh, the irony kills me.

How're you celebrating the end of February?? Have a girls night out and blog about it. I hear tell that Holly might be offering up a prize for one lucky girls' night out story teller!

Good-bye February! Hellooooo March!

Oh dear. How fun! My best friend and I do the exact same thing! Except our restaurant of choice is Red Robin. We're best friends, and our husbands are best friends, and our kids are best friends. It works out.

I'm ending February with just Saylor & I while my husband and oldest daughter are moving my brother & sister in law 6 hours away. And do you remember that comment that I left the other day on your Profane post??? About how the house they're renting from us was trashed?? Ya, well today as we were helping them pack up, using our truck & trailer and my sister in law was just sitting there holding her baby, I was scrubbing mud off our walls. From their dogs. And my father in law says, as they're all heading out.."So, you'll take care of all this trash left in here for us, right?" And, he also tells me, "It's gonna take you at least 3 or 4 weeks to clean all this up. You have a lot to do." Um ya, you think!? I'm so incredibly mad. And my husband just says ok. It's just not right.

Okay sorry, I kept thinking all day today about how badly I needed your 'profane' post. Yikes! Sorry to rain on your parade! But I neeeeeeeed you, Heidi!

So glad you could have a night out with your good friend! That sounds like a great idea celebrating the end of February. My little man had a fever today, but pretty much we haven't gotten it too bad this winter. Knock on wood! I love that you chose to go to Target...my kind of outing! :)

I'd love to go out for margaritas with you! I wanted one the other day when we were eating dinner with friends but didn't out of respect of this anti-all things with alcohol in them. @@

Hello stomach flu Oh man, that's nasty. I'm sorry and I hope it doesn't spread to the rest of the family. But shopping without kids, that sounds like a blast!!

You look great! Doesn't it feel good to get all dressed up and know you're still going to look good an hour later because one of your kids won't be there to spill something on you? I love that feeling!
