Kasey (who is ADORABLE, btw) over at All that is Good
thought it would be fun to have a 'getting to know you' kind of blog carnival on Monday's. Every Monday is a different activity/theme. This week she said:
List 10 random things about yourself that people might not know or you just want to share
I've already shared 6 Random Things in a tag, a couple of months ago, so I'll try not to repeat myself.
1. I like salt on my cantaloupe. It's the salty/sweet contrast, yk? Like dipping fries in my frosty at Wendy's? Or pretzels in my ice cream. All very yummy things.
2. When I open a new jar of peanut butter I have to take a spoon and take a bite out of it. Well, I DID have to until B had peanut issues, anyway.
3. I MUST have something to drink at all hours. All day and even all t hrough the night, too. This drives my husband insane. I will drink a full bottle of water throughout the night and sometimes even get up to refill it. I've always been this way; in fact, it's probably why I let all of my kids go to bed with cups of water.
4. I'm not a fan of dogs. Don't judge me. They annoy me with their slobber and licking and barking. Ew. The only exception to the rule is puppies. WHo, unfortunately, grow up to be dogs.
5. I use deodorant on my legs. Not because I have sweaty legs, but after I shave. I even have a separate deodorant *just* for my legs. It helps with any sort of razor burn or irritation from shaving you might get. Try it. You'll see.
6. I love to argue but I hate to fight. I know, I know - what's the difference, right? There's a difference though. I love to PLAYFULLY argue and engage in witty banter and discussion - I do NOT like when things get ugly and tend to flee the scene.
7. I make my husband kiss me goodbye whenever he leaves the house. Look, if it's the LAST time I ever see him I want the last interaction we had to be loving, yk?
Gosh - this is HARD - I can't think of anything else!!
8. I have a gift for remembering song lyrics from songs I haven't heard in 20 years. I can't remember PEOPLE or EVENTs but song lyrics? Oh yeah babe.
9. I'm not done having kids. I don't know if we'll have more biologically or if we'll adopt (which I'd LOVE to do) or maybe we'll just do foster care after the kids are older. Either way, I know that I'm meant to have more kids in some way.
Man...I'm coming up BLANK.
10. OK..I'm gonna break out my super secret fantasy. Once a year I'd like to run away for a long weekdn, alone. I'd stay in a hotel and I'd hardly ever leave the room except to get a facial and food. Maybe sit in the hot tub. I'd eat junk food and watch crappy movies. I'd sleep whenever I wanted. And I wouldn't feel guilty about it, at all.
There ya go. 10 (plus the other 6 if you read those!) random things about me. Play along and go link up over at Kasey's!!

This was great. I am the same way with the water too. Both my kids get a cup at night too.
i do love the salty/sweet things, too. i too, eat salt on my cantaloupe and my grapefruit, and my watermelon and my nectarines. i dip my wendy's fries in my choc frosty's. choc covered pretzels are good and i love take5 candy bars. salty/sweet things are tha bomb!!!
I love your list! Especially #10, I told my hubby on his birthday that my gift to him was me going to a hotel for a weekend just to get away! He didn't think that was good idea but I promise myself it will happen one day!
Pam
Those were great it was so much fun peeking into your life. We could totally hang out.
Great list! I a "drinker" too. (Boy, that sounded wrong!) And every time I wake up in the middle of the night I get a drink... which sadly, is every couple hours or so.
Gosh, I have to try the deodorant thang!

To comment on your adoption reference...my mom raised me and my 3 siblings and adopted a little girl in her 40's and went on to adopt that little girl's 3 biological siblings who are almost all 11 months apart. Kind of like quadruplets. So the ages of the kids my mom has go: 36-33-29-26-7-6-5-4! She's 55 today with all of those kiddos and loves it. Lance and I will adopt someday too =0) Adoption is amazing and kids are always in need of a stable foster home. DO IT!
I'm totally the same way about salt on my fruit!! Everybody thinks I'm crazy for doing it, I think it's tasty.
OMG, I love you and Nikki! My hubby and his brother make such fun of me for dipping my fries in my frosty. I am so glad I'm not the only one!
Love youre top 10, I too struggled to think of 10 "good-ones".
I haven't gotten my tattoo yet becuase, well there's several reasons.1) its FOREVER 2) my husband has 2 and I have given him such grief over them 3) I've heard they're like chips, you can't have just one and 4) what if after a year or so I change my mind removal is so painful, or so I've been told. I'm pushing 40 so I really need to make up my mind right? It will be on my foot, it's the only place that doesn't have any "proof of child bearing". If I do it it will be soon so check back.
you are awesome and I love your #10! I am stealing your fantasy and making it my own as well.
I think I would watch cheesy 80's movies like sweet sixteen and can't buy me love (I think that is what it's called, you know w/ Patrick Dempsey),and I'd eat doritos and oreos. It will be wonderful- I can see it all now!
I love those...I think I secretly dream of #10 as well!!
oh yeah, do you wake up like 100 times to go to the bathroom in the night?
Never heard of the deodarant thing for the legs but I know this much it would be worth a shot if it worked seeing that I have razor burn all the time.
Adorable children you have!
I liked reading these; always good to know more about people; I'm the same way with peanut butter and dipping fries in the frostys from Wendy's
(we do like dogs though, but I do understand :)
betty
those are great! I make Mike kiss me goodbye too...for the same reason.
I have to say, these are more interesting than many other lists!!!:)
Excellent list of randomness! Coming up with the many random items is no easy task. I am impressed.
The number of likes/dislikes that we have in common made me laugh...dogs, salt of fruit (have you tried it with watermelon?), and your super secret fantasy. The deorderant on the legs is a new one, though. Something to definitely check out!

LOVE salt ... fruit!
thanks for sharing, although Im confused about why your husband cares that you need to drink all the time.
and boy does that sound wrong. Like I just made you out to be a lush.
Oh and I did your fantasy thing and what happened? I got a migraine and stayed up and in pain the whole time. yay.
#6 & #7... I AM Just like that!
Heidi, You're so sweet to leave such nice comments on my blog. Thanks for the little "shout out" about my blog today. :) I'm glad you participated in Kasey's activity with me. Your #1 cracked me up because I can't even imagine salt on cantaloupe, but I love french fries dipped in a Wendy's Frosty.
hey there! i loved reading this and especially loved the last one. I too fanasize about this "vacation". i'm thinkin' maybe I'll treat myself this mother's day... or maybe I'll just go there in my mind when my guts run out. (smile) by the way, once again you had me laughing out loud at your blog entries tonight> i love you ... me
Have you ever tried salt on grapefruit or watermelon...yum! I am with you on #9. If we have another baby we will adopt. I am open to foster kids some day too since I grew up with them when I was young.
I'm also with you on #10! I've done that before. My husband set it up for me...he said I NEEDED it...no backing out...Whew...so glad I took it. I made a journal and covered it in scrapbook paper and cute trim that weekend. Love it still!
You have adorable kiddos! Have a great weekend! Rhonda
